B.Tech students declared best

Ludhiana, September 3
The project of the B.Tech students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (BBSBEC), Fatehgarh Sahib, have been awarded as best B.Tech project in Punjab by the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, in a project titled ‘Design and fabrication of roller burnishing tool.’

According to the college authorities, in an intimation received by the selection committee constituted by the ISTE, New Delhi, has recommended the medallion and citation. The award will be given at the inaugural function of the 5th Annual Convent of the ISTE students to be held at the Sant Longowal Institute of Education and Technology, Sangrur, on October 3, 2002.

The college authorities said all three students of the Mechanical Engineering Department — Shiv Dev Singh, Harpreet Singh Dhiman, Deepak Kumar Goyal — along with their guides Mr Balraj Singh Brar and Dr Panesar have been invited to receive the award at Longowal.

The college Principal, Dr D.S. Hira, while appreciating the efforts of the students said this award was the outcome of rigorous practical training being imparted to the students of the college. Mr Kirpal Singh Libra, Member-Secretary of the Baba Banda Singh Education Trust, congratulated the students and their guides.
