Hair raising

Dr Batra’s Positive Health Clinic (DBPHC), the world’s first ISO 9001: 2000 certified homeopathic clinic has included Swiss Polarised Ray (SPR) treatment for hair loss disorders. The clinic claims a success rate of 74 per cent in hair loss disorders. Based on the principles of the Nobel Prize winning light therapy, the SPR was introduced to the world by Danish physician Nies Ryberg Finsen.

Documented results have shown that SPR increases the effectiveness of homeopathic medication prescribed at DBPHC and a combination of both makes the medication double effective. The clinic says that the SPR treatment has no side effects and the DBPHC doctors take only two minutes to administer the treatment in the course of a routine monthly visit. The clinic claims that in the last 27 years, 50,000 persons suffering from hair loss have benefitted from its treatment.

According to an in-house survey conducted by DBPHC, young persons are now beginning to complain of hair loss.

Most patients under medication for hair loss at DBPHC are between 25 to 35 years of age. Of these, 80 per cent of the patients are male and most of them suffer from Male Pattern Baldness (MPB). Most female patients suffer from Female Pattern Baldness (MPB) previously known as alopecia diffusa. Alopecia aerata is another hair loss disorder both men and women complain of.

According to doctors at the clinic, hereditary factors are the main reason for hair loss. Stress, hormonal factors are nutritional deficiencies are other causes.

The doctors have found that such patients suffer from a deep-rooted inferiority complex because of their appearance.

Premature hair loss can also cause great emotional turmoil. In some cases, it also leads to social withdrawal.
