Designs for new MC building rejected
Our Correspondent

SAS Nagar, June 26
The Municipal Council has rejected the designs submitted by architects for constructing its new building in Sector 68 here.

The council had invited eight different parties — Adhar Sila, Anand and Anand, Architect Artierior, Chaitanya Aggarwal, Creative Consoltium, Kuljit Architect, Sakar Foundation and Vastukrit — for the presentation of architectural designs and other details on May 31. However, except for Anand and Anand, the others were present at the meeting.

The committee for finalising the designs comprised the Chief Town Planner, Local Government, Punjab, the council’s Executive Officer and the Municipal Engineer, and PUDA’s Senior Architect. However, the PUDA official did not attend the meeting.

The committee unanimously decided to reject all designs as these did not fulfil the requirements of the proposed office building and its planned expansion.

The council then decided that as none of the designs presented at meeting was outstanding, fresh bids should be invited from architects having experience of more than 10 years and the lowest offers could be assigned the work.
