SSF asks govt to curb
blasphemy Ludhiana, June 24 In a statement here today, the SSF President, Mr Gurcharan Singh Grewal, observed that the arrest of two Sikh youth from Moga on charges of conspiracy to kill Baba Piara Singh Bhaniara and Ashutosh of Nur Mahal sect was being played up at the instance of senior government functionaries. “Any attempt to link these arrests with terrorism will cost very dear to the extent that hard earned peace in the state can be disturbed,” he added The SSF functionary charged the previous SAD-BJP government as well as the Congress government with adopting an attitude of indifference and aloofness to meticulously planned successive attacks on Sikh panth by blasphemous elements. Had the government acted in right earnest to check the objectionable activities of people like Baba Bhaniara and Ashutosh and his close supporters of Nur Mahal sect, the situation would not have come to such a pass. |
