Doctors
dismayed over Kalam’s statement Ludhiana, June 20 Dr Arun
Mitra, general secretary, IDPD, in a press statement today said that the facts were to the contrary. India and Pakistan did not fight any war since 1971 even though they did not have nuclear weapons. But after acquiring these weapons both of countries fought in Kargil. Tension between the two countries had increased since the two had got these weapons. Their possession could not be justified on that score too because if they were there, they could be used any time leading to catastrophe. The only way out was to eliminate these weapons from earth. The South Asians should take lead, stressed Dr
Mitra. |
