The new Speaker of the Lok Sabha will be elected on May 10. According to a bulletin issued by the Lok Sabha Secretary General’s Office here today, the motion of the election of the Speaker will be given before May 9. UNI

Economic blockade
Daltonganj, May 6
Rail services were disrupted in Palamu and Latehar districts as the three-day ‘economic blockade’ called by the outlawed Maoist Communist Centre and People’s War Group in Jharkhand to protest against POTA began today. Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Palamu Range), Rajiv Kumar said the ultras stormed the Untari road station and asked the station manager to stop movement of rail traffic.
