Training camp for shooters ends Ludhiana, April 27 However, the KVM shooters had performed well in the National School Shooting Championship held recently, but with the objective of improving performance of the shooters , this club has been formed. The KVM has one of the best indoor fully air conditioned range in Punjab schools. The Principal of KVM, Ms Indira Kumar, awarded the certificates to the participants at the end of this camp today. Col J.S. Brar and Mr Garcha, president and general secretary of District Rifle Association (DRA), respectively, were also present on the occasion. During this six-day-long training and selection camp 30 new shooters got fist hand training from Mr N.S. Bhogal, senior vice-president, DRA. The shooters practiced daily for one-and-a-half-hours in the morning. In this training programme beginners were taught about correct position, aiming and breathing while shooting. They were also made aware of various physical exercises beneficial for shooting. The in-charge of the shooting club, Ms Chander Sharma, said the camp would be very helpful for the upcoming shooters and help in producing shooters of international level. She disclosed that the school would organise a training-cum-selection camp during which the shooters would be selected to represent the club in the District Shooting Championship to be held in the last week of May.
