Curfew in Mhow
Indore, April 20
Curfew was imposed and Rapid Action Force (RAF) deployed in Mhow town near here late last night as violence broke out following the murder of a 17-year-old boy, the police said today. As the news spread about the murder of Dipesh Kahar, kidnapped two days ago following a dispute during a cricket match, a mob hurled petrol bombs at police vehicles and caused a blast in the Kirwani Nagar area, suspecting his killers to be living there. They pelted stones and damaged the Mhow-Indore shuttle, the police said. Curfew was clamped on the town and RAF deployed following the violence. The body of the youth was found concealed in a sack in the Chhatripura area of Indore. Five persons belonging to a minority community have so far been arrested in connection with the violence, the police said. As violence rocked Mhow, two persons, including one of a minority community, were killed in nearby Ashapura and Chourdiaya villages but the police ruled out any connection between the incidents.
