Maulana Dehlavi visits temple
Tribune News Service

Jammu, April 20
Chairman of Anjuman Minhaj-e-Rasool Maulana Syed A.H. Dehlavi has, while berating communal forces for kicking up sectarian violence, demanded an immediate ban on the VHP, the Bajrang Dal and the Shiv Sena as in the case of the Lashkar-i-Toiba and Jash-e-Mohammad.

Maulana Dehlavi, the first Muslim religious leader to visit the historic Raghunath Temple after the terrorist attack on March 30, after touring various parts of the Kashmir valley, told newsmen here today that communalists and fundamentalists had no place in India which “is a multi-religious country.”

He said kicking up violence, burning alive of human beings in the name of religion and inciting communal hatred were barbaric acts and these would stop if all communal and anti-national bodies were banned.

The Maulana said the desecration of Raghunath Temple, burning of the shrine at Chrar-i-Sharif and demolition of the Babri Masjid were acts of communal and anti-national elements.

During his visit to the valley he was convinced that the withdrawal of STD and ISD facilities to PCOs in the state had cut off communication channels between the people in Kashmir and the rest of the country. The step had not affected the militants who continued to maintain the communication channels through the wireless system and satellite phones.

He said he had met several pilgrims at Katra. They, too, were facing problems on account of non-availability of STD facilities at PCOs.

He warned that central and state governments against the activities of the ISI and the Mosad, saying whatever had happened to Godra was the handiwork of the ISI.
