UK daily scribe freed in Zimbabwe
HARARE:
A journalist working for Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper was released after being held in jail for five days under new security laws, one of her lawyers said on Monday. Peta Thornycroft, freed after a court order, was accused of publishing false information under a security law that critics say is aimed at stifling criticism of President Robert Mugabe. She was arrested while investigating reports of a campaign of retribution against the opposition MDC. Reuters
