HUDA demolishes 250 houses

Sonepat, March 25
Officials of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) demolished over 250 houses, shops and other structures at Sector 15, a residential colony of the authority, amidst allegations against five residents that they had duped the others by getting stay orders from the court only for themselves after collecting money from all of them for the litigation. Demolitions were carried out as part of the ongoing campaign by the HUDA against encroachments Many residents complained that the demolition operations were carried out indiscriminately and no one was allowed to take out their household goods. However, the houses of five residents -- Mr Satbir Dahiya, Mr Raju Dairywala, Mr Jagbir Dahiya, Mr Ved Arya and Mr Rakesh Sharma – were untouched by the HUDA officials as they had secured stay orders from the court. This led to great resentment among other residents of the Sector as they had contributed the amount and given the same to the above-mentioned residents for seeking the stay orders from the court. But they secured the stay orders for themselves alone and not other residents.

Now, the residents of the Sector are contemplating legal action against the above-mentioned persons for betraying them and misappropriating the amount collected by them. OC
