Two boys kidnapped for ransom rescued
New Delhi, March 11
With the arrest of three suspects, the Delhi Police today claimed to have solved the Kalkaji kidnapping case. The prime suspect, Kanahyya Lal, is still absconding. The suspects, Nizamuddin (30), Girija Shankar alias Pandit (22), Ram Chander Yadav (23), were arrested on Sunday from Zakhira in North-East district.

School kids held for murder
Sonepat, March 11
The police have solved the alleged kidnapping and murder of a 17-year-old youth, Vipin, of gur mandi area and arrested five youths, all students of a local school, in this connection. According to a report, the arrested students were identified as Harish Dahiya, a student of 11th class, Ravi Kumar of Gokul Nagar (Delhi), Sanwal Kumar of Mahipalpur (Delhi), Satinder of Pritampura (Sonepat) and Amit Rana of Khera Kalan (Delhi).

MCD files ATR in stray cattle case
New Delhi, March 11
Even as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) filed an action taken report in the Delhi High Court on the measures taken to clear the Capital’s roads of stray cattle and dogs, the petitioner urged the court to issue directions to free the roads of NCT of cattle menace.

DVB Junior Engineer dies as car falls into canal
New Delhi, March 11
A junior engineer of the DVB, Mr R. K. Jain, died today when the Maruti car (No. DL-2C-L-8691) in which he was travelling fell into the Bawan canal. Two others, Santosh and Dharamveer, who were also in the car were rescued from the canal.

LSP moves court for ‘two candles’  symbol

The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party today moved the court urging it to pass an order for the award of “two candles” symbol to the party for the forthcoming MCD polls. The Delhi High Court, while issuing notice to the Delhi Election Commission, refused to pass any interim order.

Reigning champions Indian Nationals Club took a 2-0 lead against former league champions Nivia-Mughals Club in the first leg semi-final match of the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA)-SAIL Senior Division Football League Championship at the Ambedkar Stadium in the Capital on Monday. Both the teams will meet in the second leg semi-final on March 13 at 3.30 pm.

RC India vs Rest of Asia golf match today

Indian players will match their golfing skills against Rest of Asia on Tuesday as an interesting build up to the Royal Challenge Indian Open Golf Championship to be held at the Delhi Golf Club course from March 14 to 17.The Royal Challenge Pro Am will be held on March 13. Police campaign against gambling pays off
Gurgaon, March 11
The police have launched a special drive to check the sale of unauthorised lotteries (noting numbers on plain paper) and gambling with cards in the district. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr Kuldeep Singh Siag, all Station House Officers (SHOs) have been directed to ensure that no playing of cards for the purpose of gambling should be allowed in their respective jurisdictions.
