Bharati Yadav, sister of Vikas Yadav, the prime accused in the Nitish Katara abduction and murder case, today told a team of Ghaziabad police that she had known Nitish Katara, son of a joint secretary in the Union Shipping Ministry, as they were classmates while doing their management course at Ghaziabad’s Institute of Management Technology during 1998-2000.

Sheila Govt has failed to deliver: BJP
New Delhi, March 2
The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today accused the Shiela Dikshit government of inefficiency and ineptitude, as most of the money sanctioned by the central government for development of the Capital for the year 2001-2002 had been unutilised. Releasing the figures, the Opposition leader in the Delhi Assembly, Mr Jagdish Mukhi, said that the Congress government led by Mrs Sheila Dikshit in the Capital could spend only 46.6 per cent of the total money sanctioned by the Centre.

MCF to improve financial health

The authorities of the Municipal Corporation Faridabad (MCF) would take strict action against the defaulters of various dues from house tax, property tax, and water connection charges. The penalty may mean even the attachment of the property.

Five killed as Tata Sumo rams truck

Five persons, including two women, were killed and five others injured seriously after a Tata Sumo rammed a stationary truck on the national highway near Anwarpur under Pilkhua police station in the wee hours of the morning.

Lender’s wife, kids stabbed to death
Ghaziabad, March 2
Four persons barged into the house of Mr Mushir Alam, a resident of Nai Basti of Jamalpur in Loni, and attacked his wife, son and daughter with sharp-edged weapons killing them late last night. The assailants had owed Mr Mushir Rs 21,000 which led to a heated argument in the morning.

Notorious criminal arrested in Mangolpuri
New Delhi, March 2
The North-West District police arrested a notorious criminal Subhash for reportedly stabbing Gulshan, an alcoholic in Mangolpuri area on February 27. The deceased Gulshan was admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
