FOOTBALL New Delhi, February 24 In other Group B matches, Karims-City Club eclipsed Moonlight Club 2-0 while Frontiers stunned Tarun Sangha 2-1. In the first match, Indian Nationals, after toiling without any gain in the first half, finally got the rewards on resumption when outside-right Sachin connected a well-measured pass from the left flank by Adams Monday, which grazed the hands of Garhwal Heroes’ custodian Kiran Barua before going in (1-0). Nationals have taken their points tally to nine from three matches. In the second match, City Club also maintained their unbeaten record when they beat Moonlight Club by a brace. Irfan Khan drew first blood in the 13th minute while Sunil Chetri completed the scoring in the 43rd minute (2-0). Moonlight have secured just one point from three matches. In the last match, Frontiers Club hit back from a goal in arrear to beat Tarun Sangha. Inside-left Debasish Das put Tarun Sangha in the lead in the 60th minute while Frontiers’ captain Balvinder Raj restored parity (1-1) when he converted a penalty kick in the 62nd minute. Sunil, Gaurav help TYCA win A brilliant unbeaten 93 by Sunil Kashyap and a deadly bowling spell of 3 for 29 by Gaurav Malhotra helped Trans-Yamuna Cricket Association (TYCA) defeat Bright Club by six
runs and enter the quarter-final of the second Rajdhani Sports Cricket Tournament, sponsored by Reebok, at the Kalindi College ground. Sunil Kashyap was adjudged the man of the match. Sanjay Arora of Reebok India inaugurated the tournament. Scores: TYCA: 223 for 8 in 40 overs (Sunil Kashyap 93 n o, Paras Dogra 47, Ajay Nagia 25, Netarpal 3/37, Raj Kapoor 3/51).
