Farooq violated
poll code: BJP Jammu, February 21 Mr Gupta said he had taken up the matter with the Election Commission. Laying the foundation stone of a mosque just two days before polling was a clear violation of the model code of conduct,” he said. He ridiculed Abdullah for stating that allegations about demographic change in Jammu were unfounded since people moved to the winter capital due to severe cold in the valley, saying “thousands of houses coming up unauthorisedly are clear indication of it.” “It is strange that instead of taking steps to check such construction, the Chief Minister has misused the pre-poll time to defend such illegal constructions and that too by laying a foundation stone of a mosque,” Gupta said. “If these people have come from the valley just because of the severe cold, how and why they got registered as voters in Jammu, especially when no one can become voter at two places,” he wondered.
