Honour for PAU scientist

Ludhiana
Dr Sanjay Arora, a research scholar of the Department of Soils, Punjab Agricultural University, has been awarded the Best Scientist Award for work in agricultural sciences by the Punjab Academy of Sciences at the 5th Punjab Science Congress organised at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala recently.

Dr Arora presented his doctorate research work on “Kinetics of boron adsorption-desorption and its availability in the soils of Punjab”. TNS

Lok adalat for bank loans

Ludhiana, February 16
A special lok adalat for the settlement of pre-litigative loan cases organised at the Old Courts Complex here today, exclusively for Oriental Bank of Commerce branches in Punjab, evoked an overwhelming response. As many as 105 cases were settled for Rs 206.90 lakh during the daylong session.

According to Mr V.K. Kashyap, Deputy General Manager and regional head of OBC here, in all 474 cases, including 414 from Ludhiana region, were put up.
