A memorable performance by Davar
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, February 9
Shamak Davar who can sing in Hindi, Punjabi and English comfortably, performed along with students of his school at Harsheela Resorts last night. The function which was attended by Bollywood’s popular stars, Priety Zinta, Raveena Tandon, and the star-turned politician Vinod Khanna, was organised by Mittals of AirTel to celebrate its launch of mobile services in the state yesterday.

The stage was set in a most bewitching and imaginative manner. The beautiful coloured lights and artificial smoke billowing out presented a replica of any ostentatious set that one witnesses in the films. Music and colourful costumes of the dancers added new magical dimension to the evening of fun and dances.

Students of Shamak’s dance school danced to the popular numbers from ‘Taal’, ‘Gadar’ and ‘K3G’. When Shamak came onto the stage, the atmosphere was charged. Shamak has choreographed many popular dance numbers of different films. He started with an English number to move onto popular Hindi and later Punjabi tunes. The audience was disappointed as Priety and Raveena just made a brief appearance on the stage. However, Vinod Khanna was welcomed by the crowd but they did not want him to convass for his party.

Mr Sunil Mittal of AirTel seemed to have spared no effort to make the evening a memorable one. The show ended with a patriotic song in which the participants joined in with gusto.
