Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amount of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Mandi 2 and Bhuntar 1, Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam 2 and Banmihal, Quazigund and Srinagar 1 each, Snowfall report (cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhandi 53, Bhang 27, Solangnala 21 and Patisio 16.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in east Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 4.4°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 9: Rain or snow will occur at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan. Hailstorms or thundersqualls are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 9: Mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy by tomorrow afternoon with possibility of thundery development and light rain in some areas. Minimum temperature will be around 10°C.
