SGTB Khalsa down Ranchi in Colleges Hockey New Delhi, February 6 In a closely-contested match, SGTB forged ahead in the 14th minute when Navneet Kumar drove home a penalty corner. Then for a long time, both the teams fought hard to garner a goal, but without success as the second goal came only in the 66th minute when the Delhi College cemented their lead, with Amandeep Singh striking a stunning field goal. St.Xavier’s College, Ranchi pulled off the equaliser during injury time when Cyprian Kullu blasted into the net a field goal. The Tournament was inaugurated by Mr Arjun Hira, general manager, Bharat Petroleum, who are co-sponsors of the tournament. Raman played a sheet-anchor role both with the bat and the ball, knocking up a stroke-filled 76 (6x4) and claiming 3 for 25, to guide NDTV to a thrilling one-wicket victory against JRA (Jassal Ranganathan and Associates) in the ninth Teri Cup Cricket Tournament, organised by TERI (Tata Energy Research Institute) at the Teri Oval, Gurgaon. JRA won the toss and opted to bat. They made 165 for 4 in the alloted 25 overs, but NDTV pulled the rugs out of JRA, thanks to the brilliant all-round performance of Raman.

McKinsey win in CRY Cricket McKinsey beat Arthur Andersen by nine runs in a first round match of the second CRY Cadence Corporate Cricket Challenge, played at the Bhagat Singh College ground. Munish of Arthur Andersen was adjudged the man of the match. Scores: McKinsey: 177/6 in 25. Arthur Andersen: 168 all out in 24.5

Rewari Panchayat Tournament The eighth Rewari district Panchayat Tournaments will be held in Rao Tula Stadium here on February 15 and 16, Kabaddi (National as well as Haryana style), volleyball, 500m Camel and Oxen-cart races, tug-of-war and wrestling competitions (58 to 67 kg and above) will be held for the men participants, while women participants will have kabaddi (national style), volleyball, Kho-kho, pitcher race and wrestling competitions (54 to 63 kg and above). There will also be athletic competitions comprising 100m, 400m, 1500m and 5000m races, shotput, discus throw, bicycle race, weightlifting, high jump and long jump events for men as well as woman participants. There would also be race competitions for officials as well as members of the Panchayats, Block Samitis and Zila Parishad.

Sahgal Stud beat Kalaan Farm in SMS Gold Vase Polo Sahgal Stud beat Kalaan Farm by eight goals to two in the SMS Gold Vase (eight goal) Polo Tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre Polo ground in the Capital on Wednesday. Oliver Taylor (three), Basheer Ali (four) and Rajesh Sahgal (one) scored the goals for the winners while Angad Kalaan and Harshwardhan Singh struck the goals for Kalaan. In another match, Jindal Steel and Power beat South Delhi by 5-4. Samir Suhag (four) and Naveen Jindal scored for Jindal Steel and Power while Phillip Elliot (three) and Bhawani Singh Kalvi were the scorers for South Delhi. JPC beat Cavalry A 5-2 and Taragarh beat Indian Navy by seven goals to two and a half, in other matches. Shamsheer Ali scored all the five goals for JPC while Capt. Tarun Sirohi and Maj. A. S.
