Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Haryana and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were appreciably below normal in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Punjab, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.8°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 1, 2002: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 1, 2002: Mainly clear sky. Mist/fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 8°C.
