Anti-Leprosy Day observed

Ludhiana, January 30
The Focal Point Industrial Sheds Association, in association with the District Leprosy Society, held a function at Phase 4 of the Focal Point area to observe the National Anti-Leprosy Day here today.

Earlier in the morning school children from schools of the Focal Point area took out a march from Jamalpur on the Chandigarh Road to the venue of the function. They were led by a school band and they carried banners highlighting the need to eradicate leprosy from the country.

Mr S.K. Sandhu, Deputy Commissioner, presided over the function, while Mr R.L. Kalsia, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, inaugurated a free camp on skin diseases.

Gymnastics meet

Khanna, January 30
The Ludhiana District Gymnastics Association will organise Punjab State Junior Gymnastics Championship at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa School on February 1 and 2. Over 200 gymnasts from the state will participate in the championship. Successful gymnasts will represent Punjab in National Junior Gymnastics Championship to be held at Ajmer on February 9.
