Restore STD facility to valley: CPM
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, January 8
Terming it as an “unwarranted step”, the CPM today asked the Government to immediately restore the STD and ISD services to the Kashmir valley which were withdrawn from January 1.

In a statement, the CPM Politburo said the decision of the central Government to withdraw STD and the ISD services from all privately-run- public call offices in the Kashmir valley had led to a large number of people losing their livelihood.

In the name of checking terrorist activities, such a step had led to great inconvenience for ordinary people, the statement said adding that even jawans of the Army and security forces posted in the valley were unable to contact their families.
