Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little. Departures: They were below normal in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 2.5°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 9: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 9: Mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy by tomorrow evening. Fog in the morning. No significant change in minimum temperature.
