Patients throng camp

Ludhiana, September 28
A faith healing camp, which was inaugurated on September 26 at Janj Ghar, Model Town, here, will continue till September 30. It is organised by the local unit of the Sarb Rog Ka Aukhad Naam Mission. The founder of the mission is Mr Hardayal Singh, a former IAS.

Devotees throng in large numbers and follow the timetable. The day starts at 5 am with ‘naam simran’ followed by ‘ardas’ and breakfast. At 8.30 am Dr Balwant Singh goes through the files of the patients to study the diseases they are suffering from. The patients are advised to participate in all ‘shabad kirtans’ and self-recitation programmes.

Inderjeet, who suffered from somnambulism, says after joining the mission she feels better.

Cardiac Olympics’

There is a good news for the patients who have undergone cardiac procedures and are currently leading normal lives as the city will host ‘Cardiac Olympics’ — a meet in which they can participate in different games and show the world that they are as normal as anybody else. The event will be organised by Sigma Heart Institute and Research Centre at Guru Nanak Stadium on October 21.

Rippenpreet adjudged best skater

Damanbir Singh Sandhu, a student of Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Sarabha Nagar, and Rippenpreet Kaur of Guru Nanak International Public School, were at the centre-stage of the 4th two-day Ludhiana District Roller Skating Championship, which concluded at the rink hall of Satguru Partap Singh Academy at Bhaini Sahib village, near here, yesterday.

Damanbir Singh hogged the limelight by clinching three gold medals in the 6 to 8 years group, while in the girls’ section Rippenpreet bagged two gold medals and one silver medal and was adjudged as best skater of the year.
