12 CRPF men killed in blast
Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Sept 23
Twelve CRPF personnel were killed and five policemen injured when the banned Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) detonated a landmine and opened fire in Hazaribagh district today, official sources said. PTI

Charge sheet against 11 ULFA activists
New Delhi, September 23
The CBI has filed a charge sheet against 11 suspected ULFA activists for allegedly entering into a criminal conspiracy to murder a former acting Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Bhumidar Burman. The agency filed the charge sheet in a designated CBI court in Guwahati which took cognisance of the charge sheet and fixed November 2 for appearance of the acussed persons, an agency spokesman said here on Sunday. The CBI is investigating the alleged attempt to murder Dr Burman on December 30, 1999, following an order by the Centre on the request of the state government. PTI
