BJP council meeting on Oct 21

The BJP would hold its National Council meeting here on October 21.
Announcing the ‘swarnajayanti’ celebrations of the Jan Sangh, BJP President K. Jana Krishnamurthi said the council meeting would be addressed by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Home Minister Lal Krishan Advani.

Plots for quake-hit

The Ministry of Shipping has approved the proposal of Kandla Port for the transfer of 55 acres of port land to rehabilitate earthquake-affected persons who were living in Kandla, Gandhidham and Adipur. Sources in the ministry said the Port Trust had handed over the land to the Gujarat Government. About a thousand flat owners affected by the earthquake will get plots of 100 sq m each in Gandhidham.
