Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather was dry in Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm. are: Haryana: Chandigarh 4 and Hodal, Jagadhari and New Delhi (Palam) 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Pandoh 4 and Baijnath, Kasol, Nahan, Rampur Bushar, Shimla and Sundernagar 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu and Srinagar 1 each, Punjab: Dasuya 2 and Adampur and Amritsar 1 each, east Uttar Pradesh: Birdghat and Khadda 4 each, Balrampur and Gorakhpur 3 each, Ayodhya, Elginbridge and Neemsar 2 each and Mukhlispur and Sultanpur 1 each, west Uttar Pradesh: Narora 4 and Agra 2 and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 4, Pantnagar 2 and Mukteshwar and Uttarkashi 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 6: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Rajasthan.
