The monsoon has been active in east Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in east Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Guler 5, East Uttar Pradesh: Mirzapur 19, Varanasi 11, Jaunpur 10, Birdghat and Khadda 9 each, Allahabad and Chhatnag 6 each, Bansi, Ghazipur, Mukhlispur and Shardanagar 5 each, Kakrahi and Regoli 4 each, Ayodhya and Basti 3 each, Dalmau 2 and Ankinghat, Balrampur, Chandradeepghat, Chillaghat, Elginbridge, Kanpur, Lucknow, Raebarely, Sultanpur and Turtipar 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Jhansi 1 and Uttaranchal: Rudraprayag 4, Hardwar 2 and Dehra Dun and Uttarkashi 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 3: Rain or thundershowers will occur at most places in east Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.
