‘Over 350
doctors to be recruited’ Ludhiana, Sept 1 According to a press note, the camp was jointly organised by the Indian Dental Association, Punjab, the Dental Research Institute of Versatile Education (DRIVE), the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, and the Lions Club, Mid Town, Jagraon. Dr Puneet Girdhar, president of DRIVE, said the project was dedicated to Dr Vaninder Singh Bakshi, a dental surgeon who expired two years ago at the age of 28 years. Dr Chawla in his address said awareness about dental health had increased manifold over the past five years. He said the government was releasing funds to the government institutions for improvement of dental and medical care. Dr Rajinder Kaur, Civil Surgeon explained about the importance of dental health. She said brushing teeth twice a day helped in the prevention of various dental problems and ailments. She added everybody should go for a regular dental check-up by a qualified doctor. Dr Girdhar said over 50,000 schoolchildren will be covered under this project. |
