Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in eastern Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Himachal, Punjab and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana. Weather mainly was dry in the rest of the region. Chief amounts of rain in cm. are: Haryana: Ambala and Chandigarh 2 each, Himachal: Rohru and Una 1 each, Punjab: Batala 3 and Dhuri, Ropar and Samrala 1 each, eastern Uttar Pradesh: Dalmau 9, Kanpur 6, Ankinghat 5, Ayodhya 4, Bansi, Bahraich, Kakrahi, Kalpi and Mirzapur 3 each, Jaunpur and Khadda 2 each and Ballia, Ghazipur, Neemsar, Regoli, Shardanagar, Turtipar and Varanasi 1 each and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 2 and Rudraprayag 1.

Forecast valid till the morning of August 26: Rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, eastern Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid till the morning of August 26: Partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundery development in some areas. Not much change in maximum temperature.
