Monsoon has been active in Uttaranchal.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Uttaranchal, at many places in east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amount of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bharwain, Kangra and Nadaun 3 each, Bangana and Nagrotasurian 2 each and Guler, Ghamroor and Kasol 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 8, Batote 2 and Srinagar 1, Punjab: Balachaur 1, East Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi city 5 and Sultanpur and Varanasi 1 each and Uttaranchal: Haripur 6, Dehradun 5, Mukteshwar 3.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 25: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
