7 CRPF men among 9 killed in blast
Guwahati, August 5
Nine persons, including seven CRPF men, were killed today when a powerful bomb, planted by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants, exploded at Bijni in Assam’s Bongaigaon district, official sources said. A group of CRPF personnel were going from their Amguri camp to Bijni when a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) with remote control device planted at the roadside between Bolanguri and Amguri exploded this afternoon. Seven CRPF men, including an inspector and a head constable, alongwith a civil driver and his assistant, were killed on the spot as the vehicle was totally damaged in the blast. PTI
