Monsoon has been vigorous in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and active in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, at a few places in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Chandigarh and Pehowa 1 each; Himachal Pradesh: Bharwain 13, Nagrotasurian 7, Una 5, Bangana 4, Kahu and Kasol 3 each, Amb, Berthin, Bhuntar, Ghumarwin, Guler, Ghamroor and Sundernagar 2 each and Pandoh and Gohar 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu 7, Pahalgam 3, Kukernag, Kupwara and Quazigund 2 each and Batole and Banihal 1 each, Punjab: Amritsar and Balachaur 8 each, Raya 7, Adampur 6, Batala and Dasuya 5 each, Mukerian, Nangal and Nawanshahr 4 each and Garhshankar 2; east Rajasthan: Deeg 2 and Dungla, Dewas, Jaisamand and Kumher 1 each; west Rajasthan: Kalibaur and Mount Abu 1 each; east Uttar Pradesh: Allahabad 9, Varanasi 6, Gorakhpur 4, Bahraich 3 and Lucknow and Sultanpur 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 1: Rain or thundershowers will occur at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and east Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
