Sivaji Ganesan dead
Chennai, July 21
Thespian and Dada Saheb Phalke awardee Sivaji Ganesan died at the Apollo Hospital here this evening, due to heart ailment. He was 74. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
Sivaji Ganesan, who had been suffering from heart ailment for a long time, was admitted to the hospital a fortnight ago. UNI

BSP expels 3 senior party leaders
Lucknow, July 21
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today expelled three senior leaders from the party for indulging in anti-party activities.
Announcing the expulsion of MLAs Barkhu RamVerma, R.K. Chaudhary and Krisna Pal Singh at a press conference here, party National Vice-President Mayawati said these leaders were opposed to the BSP’s stand on the issue of providing reservation to the “most backwards and most Dalits”. The three expelled leader were not immediately available for comment. PTI

Fire in Neyveli thermal plant
Neyveli, July 21
A major portion of the seventh thermal unit of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation’s thermal station II was destroyed in a fire today. NLC sources said.
Two workers, who sustained burn injuries, have been hospitalised. The fire is suspected to have started due to a puncture in the gas pipelines due to heavy pressure. However, the exact cause was yet to be ascertained, according to S. Kumar, Manager, NLC. PTI
