Hubli, July 18
The police burst teargas shells to disperse violent groups, clashing over a piece of land in a burial ground belonging to a particular community prior to 1955, in the old Hubli area this evening. While 23 persons were injured, 70 were taken into custody. UNI

Daughter-in-law shot
New Delhi, July 18
A 70-year-old man allegedly shot his daughter-in-law with a revolver over a trivial matter in the Samaipur Badli area of north-west Delhi. Tulsi Ram did not have a cordial relation with Manju (23) and shot her when she refused to give him milk.
