Taxation panel to strike work Fatehgarh Sahib, July 12 It may be recalled that the District Beopar Mandal had complained against the ETO here for extorting money from industrialists and traders. The Beopar Mandal had also submitted affidavits in this regard. The inquiry was marked to Additional Commissioner, but was never initiated. The Beopar Mandal, led by state president, Amrit Lal Jain, also met the higher officials and the minister concerned but in spite of taking any action, the ETO was posted at Gobindgarh industrial town. The Beopar Mandal continued its agitation and gave representations to officials of the department and ultimately after 8 months, the Beopar Mandal received a letter on June 21 to reach the office of M.R. Aggarwal on June 18 for inquiry. Interestingly the letter was posted on June 18 according to post office stamp. The Beopar Mandal protested and again on July 12 it received a letter no. 4355 dated June 26 and bearing the stamp of post office dated July 7. They were asked to appear for inquiry in the same office. The Beopar Mandal alleged that the letters were being posted after the date of date of inquiry knowingly so that they could hush up the inquiry.
