Hand-painted fabrics
on display Chandigarh, July 6 Simron, a former student of the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology, created about 120 hand-painted suits within a month for the exhibition. This young designer says that she has drawn inspiration from the Hindu deities and nature that are represented in an abstract form. Another exhibition by Mansi, a final-year student of the Sector 8 National Institute of Fashion Designing (NIFD), was also inaugurated at the same venue today. For her first exhibition, Mansi has created a variety of embroidery works, using tie-and-dye techniques in crepe, jute and chiffon. Mansi’s formal and semi-formal creations reflect the traditional elements without losing the touch of summer. |
