Basketball tourney from today

Ludhiana, May 3
The district sub-junior basketball teams of boys and girls has left for Fazilka this afternoon to participate in the three-day. Punjab State Sub-Junior Championship starting from tomorrow. Mr Teja Singh, Secretary, Punjab Basketball Association, said the matches would be played on knock-out basis and the state team would be selected on the basis of performance of the players in the tournament.

As many as five players of Adarsh Model High School are in the boys team while three players are from Guru Harkishan Public School. The boys team is: Paramvir Singh (captain), Ravi Sharma, Rattandeep Singh, Ravinder Singh, Dhanwant Singh, Jajbir Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Dushyant, Talvinder Singh, Parambir Singh, Taranjit Singh, Sachin Sharma, Harmeet Singh and Tega Singh.

The girls team is: Pooja, Jasdeep, Urvashi, Rajni, Mandeep, Asha, Sonia, Jaspreet Kaur and Ishu Madan.
