New Delhi, May 3
The Centre’s negotiator on Kashmir K. C. Pant today welcomed separatist leader Shabir Shah’s response to his invitation for talks, saying the dialogue process provided a window of opportunity to move towards the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir problem.

12 militants killed in encounters
Jammu, May 3
Indian troops eliminated eight hardcore militants in the forest village of Copra Chapadian in the Mandi area of Poonch district today.

Deendar Anjuman banned
New Delhi, May 3
Deendar Anjuman, which had triggered bomb blasts in churches in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa between May and July last year, was today banned by the Centre for having links in Pakistan and for indulging in activities which are “prejudicial to the security of the country”.

The USA has suspended all military relations with China as Beijing continues to hold a damaged US reconnaissance plane involved in an April 1 collision with a Chinese fighter jet, the Pentagon said on Wednesday.
