Batala, April 29
Top Punjab militant Wassan Singh Zaffarwal, arrested in Amritsar on April 11, today said he had links with the ISI and had spent a few years in Pakistan. Zaffarwal, brought here in connection with a criminal case, said here: “I have links with the ISI” of Pakistan. The militant said he did not have any links with Punjab PWD Minister Sucha Singh Langah. PTI

Bomb scare in A-I jet
Muscat, April 29
A scheduled Air-India passenger flight from Dubai to Trivandrum with 217 passengers and 13 crew members on board made an emergency landing at Muscat following a bomb scare, officials said today. The aircraft was in Omani airspace about an hour out of Dubai last afternoon when the captain was alerted to land at Muscat. AFP

Nine electrocuted
Lucknow, April 29
Nine persons were electrocuted and three injured as they came in contact with a high tension electric wire in Kasgang town of Etah district last night, offical sources said today. A Home Department spokesman said the incident occurred when the high tension live wire fell on a bus carrying a marriage party. Local people blocked traffic on the Etah-Kasgang road in protest against the incident. PTI
