Jaya to contest two seats
Chennai, April 14
AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha will contest from Andipatti and Krishnagiri constituencies in the May 10 elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly. Her name figures in the list of AIADMK candidates released by the party here this evening. Former Union Minister Dalit Ezhilmalai will contest the by-election from the Tiruchirappalli Lok Sabha constituency. PTI

7 villagers killed
Imphal, April 14
At least seven Kuki villagers were killed and an equal number were injured by armed militants in Manipur’s Senapati district on Thursday night, official sources said today. They said armed militants belonging to the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) and a Naga underground faction stormed into Kuki-majority Keithelmanbi village in Senapati and kidnapped 14 villagers on Thursday night. China ends search
Beijing, April 14
China called off search for pilot Wang Wei today, 14 days after a collision between his F-8 fighter and a U.S. Spy plane began a tense diplomatic standoff, Xinhua said. Reuters
