Golf Range goes
hi-tech Chandigarh, April 3 Col Nirmal Singh, Director, Training, and Mr D.P. Azad, President of the Golf Range, were at hand when The Tribune team reached the range to see the functioning of the new acquisitions. The Coach, as the swing trainer exerciser is called, will enable the golf trainees to perfect their swing and tone up their muscles for the big and perfect hit. The exerciser, according to Col Nirmal Singh, is the first of its kind in the region. It has two very important benefits. It helps develop a better, more solid , repeating swing. Second it helps increase the flexibility and strength of the actual muscles used in a golf swing. Explaining the 8 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions while executing the swing, Col Nirmal Singh said these were very important positions as they involved the right body positions. The Golf Range would go in for close circuit TV cameras which will be installed at the bay of the driving range. The front and the rare positions of the players would be recorded and these would then be fed into the computers to analyse the swing. These would go a long way in correcting the posture of the players. The next on the cards are the digital cameras, which will replace the close circuit cameras. A former national amateur golf champion, Harmeet Kahlon, was thrilled to see the latest acquisitions of the golf range. “These are just the right things to perfection to the swing”, he said. |

Personality-oriented expressions may be of little help towards the main cause”, she said.
