Kids chat

Meet Archie, Veronica and Betty

Hello kids and welcome to our weekly kids chat.

Cliparti: There is so less commotion nowadays as all children seem to be busy studying for their approaching exams.

Fluppy: Yeah, and it’s getting boring too. The air around seems so dull and lifeless. I am really tired of studying and badly require a break.

Windy: Then why don’t you go out to play in the evenings.

Fluppy
: It’s no use. I only find little ones playing there. Most of my age group is busy studying at home and the ones who are out playing are those who are too young and have not yet begun with their exams or have only their yearly assessment. You don’t expect me to play ball-ball with them, do you?

Windy: Okay. But you have your computer with you. Why don’t you play on it?

Cliparti: I’ve heard about this wonderful playground for kids. It’s called the Alfy Park. Don’t expect me to tell you that it’s software.

Fluppy: Wow, sounds good! Go on.

Cliparti: I don’t know much about it but I’ve heard it’s a good experience with lots of games and creative things and information in it. It is basically a Web portal for kids. But it has something for parents and teachers too. You can see for yourself what all it has. Log on at http://www.alfy.com/index1.asp?

Fluppy: Don’t worry I’ll see for myself. Why don’t you tell me of some more good game sites? I’ve nearly exhausted the old ones.

Windy: Sure, why not! You can try this software at www.randomhouse.com/seussville/games/. You’ll find loads of games to play, the ones you can play on computer screen and those you can printout and play with paper and pen. Play Horton’s Who Hunt or Sylvester Mc Bean’s sneetch belly game or the Cat in the Hat. All are fun.

Fluppy: The best part I feel about this game is that it has some printable games. I can put that paper inside my book and play when I tire of studying.

Cliparti: But you better tell about it to your mom otherwise she might feel you are cheating on her by playing when you should be of studying.

Windy: Yes, that you must do.

Fluppy: Okay, Okay. Now tell me of some more games software.

Windy: At http://www.cyberkids.com/fg/ga/ you’ll come across various games, sports, arcade, and adventure. Sharpen the card playing skills and discover game loved by pigs, yes pigs! Adventure with your friendly ghost Casper.

Fluppy: Wow! Casper? I love Casper.

Cliparti: Casper reminds me, I know of this wonderful Disney software. I am sure you will love this one too. Watch out for movies, T.V., Video, Games, Blast, Playhouse, and Vacations with none other than Ol’ Disney. Log on to the fairy-tale snow globe at Disney store at http://disney.go.com/park/homepage/today/flash/index.html?

Windy: But my favourite is Veronica Lodge. Any idea where I can see her?

Cliparti: I’ve always wondered what makes boys all over the world including poor Archie go ga ga over her. I’ve always found Betty a better choice.

Windy: Don’t worry. You will never understand it.

Fluppy: Hey, who’s this Archie? Veronica and Betty?

Windy: Oh! They’ve lived for ages in the hearts of all teenagers round the world ____.

Cliparti: Actually they live in Riverdale ___________!

Fluppy: So what does it have to do with us?

Windy: You haven’t met them that’s why you are saying so.

Cliparti: Never mind, you can log on at http://www.archiecomics.com/ and meet them.

Fluppy: So they are characters of some comic?

Windy: What else did you think?

Fluppy: Er..., nothing. Just comics!

Cliparti: Hey guys, I think we have swayed away a bit too much from studies today.

Fluppy: No, No. No studies talk today!

Windy: Okay. Let’s talk about something in between. Something, that might satisfy Cliparti as well as you.

Cliparti: Fine.

Fluppy: - - Okay ________.

Windy: Good! Toon university.com is an education with a blast.

Fluppy: Now you are talking of education.

Windy: Wait till you hear more. It has lots of fun products and activities. A vast games area that may include math games, language arts games, geography games. I think these are the types of games one should play during this time of the year. In a way, one is in touch with studies and having a nice time too! What’s more, it has cool stickers and stuffed animals and lots of ehobbies tools. It also has some interesting readings and some wonderful search engines.

Cliparti: Be sure not to waste much time on these sites.

Windy: Yes, with exams just round the corner, these should just be enough to give you some break or a change from studies.

Fluppy: Yeah, I’ll remember to remember that!
