Everest School celebrates annual day

LUDHIANA, Jan 1 — Students and staff of Everest Public Senior Secondary School, Moti Nagar, celebrated its 30th annual prize distribution day here today.

Over 300 students were given away prizes for their achievements in academics, sports and cultural activities. Best student prizes were given to Sandeep of Class XII, Harpreet Singh of Class XI, Reena of Class X, Ruchika of Class IX, Smiley Sharma of Class VIII, Priya Bhanot of Class VII and Deepak of Class VI.

The cultural programme began with Saraswati Vandana. Students of Class X performed Rajasthani dance, followed by Dandiya. Students of Class XII peformed a skit on dowry. There was also a presentation on the menace of cheating in schools. Girls also performed a group dance on the number Bharat ham ko jaan se bhi pyara hai.

Mr Inder Pal, ex-Pro Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nank Dev University was the chief guest. Mr Rajinder Sharma, president, Association of Heads of Affiliated Schools, Punjab, and Ms Asha Sharma, Principal of the school, appreciated the efforts of the students.
