NEW DELHI, Dec 30 — Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in east Rajasthan, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region.

Forecast valid until the morning of January 1: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in the rest of the region. Thunder squalls are likely at isolated places in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 1: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershowers. Minimum temperature will rise appreciably. It will be around 10°C.
