15 more cases of dengue reported

LUDHIANA, Nov 6 — With 15 more cases reported during the past 24 hours, the number of dengue patients in Ludhiana has reached 278.

According to the figures available from the local Civil Surgeon, 11 fresh cases were reported from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and three from Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) and one from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.

Of the 278 only 78 cases were stated to be confirmed of dengue, while the remaining 200 were suspected only.

Govt college win basketball title

LUDHIANA, Nov 6 — Government College for Boys (GCB), Ludhiana won the Panjab University Division A Inter-College Basketball Tournament which concluded here today. GCB defeated Baba Shri Chand Government College, Sardargarh, in a one-sided match by 78-40.

GCB was leading in the first half by 38-14. Ravi of GCB helped his college to win the tournament by scoring 38 points while Sukhpreet and Arjinder of same college scored 18 and 14 points, respectively.
