Forest area
demarcation next week PANCHKULA, Oct 23 — The Forest Department, Haryana, will undertake the demarcation of the area under the protected forest area in the Madhna belt next week. Stating this the DFO, Mr Ved Prakash, informed that mining posed a problem in the area in the absence of any marking, and two forest officials were injured in a tussle while trying to stop mining in the forest area. He said the Revenue Department would undertake the exercise in the presence of Forest Department officials and the markings would be made to their satisfaction. “There can be no permanent markings in the area since the monsoon rains wash these away. We were, earlier, contemplating putting up angle irons to demarcate our area clearly so that the employees of contractors do not venture into our area. This was discarded since monsoon rains would wash it away and nothing would remain,’’ he added. Meanwhile, the contractors denied any mining activity in the area. |
