CBI grills Jadeja
NEW DELHI, July 16 (UNI) — Indian allrounder Ajay Jadeja was today grilled for over two hours by the CBI in connection with the cricket match-fixing scandal. A bureau spokesman said Jadeja came alone to the CBI headquarters at around 3 p.m. The investigating team recorded his statement and the cricketer left at about 5.30 p.m. There had been a lull in the CBI’s interrogation of cricketers after former team physiotherapist Ali Irani and allrounder Manoj Prabhakar, whose secretly recorded video tapes also had reference to Jadeja, were questioned on July 2 and 4.

10 massacred
GUWAHATI, July 16 (PTI) — In a case of fresh ethnic cleansing in Assam, tribal militants struck again killing 10 non-tribals, including two women and five children, in Karbi Anglong district, official reports said today. The militants, belonging to the United Peoples Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) and armed with sophisticated weapons, attacked Telohor and Langparpan villages last night and killed the non-tribals.
