Ensure water for villages : DC PANCHKULA, He informed that the Haryana Urban Development Authority had constituted special teams for maintaning cleanliness in the township, adding that social organisations should be involved in the exercise. Addressing the problem of water shortage being faced in some villages of the district, Mr Monga asked the Public Health Department to prepare a list of such villages and give it to the Sub Divisional Magistrate to ensure that water tankers are provided in these villages. Earlier, he asked the department to submit a report on the laying of new pipelines in Marad Bhagpur village. Attending to a complaint about unhygienic conditions owing to a poultry farm in Barwala, Mr Monga said that a meeting of the Disrtict Health officials, Animal Husbandry Department and the Pollution Board would be held soon. On low voltage problem in Gorakhnath Gujravali village, he said that an additional transformer would be put up and 25 new tubewells would be given electricity connections. He ordered an inquiry into the issuance of two certificates of backward classes and scheduled caste to Gautam Prasad, a resident of Azad Colony. A total of 17 complaints were put before the committtee, out of which 11 were addressed on the spot. Besides, Mr Monga heard individual grievances of villagers not on the agenda of the meeting. |
Tension over tying of buffaloes PANCHKULA, The owner of the shop, Mr Vinod Jain, said that the situation cropped up after Mr Kashmir Puri was elected panch of the village three months ago. “Since then he began to tether his cattle right in front of my shop next to his house. I put my complaint before the panchayat to decide the issue. Since then, three meetings have been held but the panch refuses to comply by the decision. He has even been given threats of removing him from the membership but to no avail,’’ he adds. Finally, he put a complaint before the Director-General of Police, Haryana, at the khulla darbar held last month wherein the DSP (City) was ordered to conduct an inquiry. Consequently, the police came on the scene and tried to persuade Mr Puri to remove his cattle, which failed. Then they spoke to all concerned, recording their statements and submitted a report of the same to the DSP (City). Police sources said that information gathered revealed that the panch had no authority over the land in question and was creating trouble unnecessarily. They said that the dispute had already led to escalation of tension between the two parties and that the police had asked the Revenue Department to measure the land to decide its ownership. “Having notified everything on paper, we will not face any law and order problem and both parties will have to abide by the order,’’ the police informed. The measurement of land was being conducted in the village today in the presence of a police personnel and members of the two warring parties, besides the sarpanch of the village, Mrs Joginder Kaur. She said that everytime a decision in this regard was taken, one of the parties had moved an application stating reasons on why they could not comply with them. In her statement she added that Mr Puri had claimed that the land belonged to him and filed a case in the CJM court at Ambala, which was settled following payment to them. Now, Mr Puri has once again staked claim over the same piece of land without any provocation, leading to the uneasy situation. For now, the complainant contends that he will go to the darbar yet again to know what had actually become of the ugly situation. Meanwhile, the report prepared by the police department is also ready and Mr Jain is hopeful of justice. Also, a copy of the complaint has been sent to the Deputy Commissioner, the District development and Panchayat Officer and the SDM, among others. |
