6 of Sikh family murdered in UP
LUCKNOW: In a ghastly incident, six members of a Sikh family were killed in Duadankhera village of this district, about thirty km from the state capital on Monday night. The victims included two women and one minor girl, district police chief Braj Bhushan Bakshi said here on Tuesday. A land dispute was suspected to be the motive. — UNI

Actor Sajjan dead
MUMBAI, May 16 (PTI) — Stage and film actor Sajjan, who acted in several memorable plays and movies between the 1950s and the 80s, died yesterday. He was 80. “Bees Saal Baad”, “Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi”, “April Fool”, “Rail Ka Dibba” and “Jhumroo” were among the 200 films in which he proved his mettle.

Mahant shot dead
LUCKNOW, May 16 (UNI) — Jagdish Das, the mahant of Thakurain Mandir, Ayodhya, was shot at in his room today. He died on the way to hospital. He was allegedly shot by Jitendra Das. Rivalry over temple property was said to be the reason for the crime.
